Follow the recording of the songs for the french TV series “Vice Versa”. Recorded in Studio Capitale and Mixed in Studio Davout, Paris France.
Produced by Stephane Meer

Started in 2003, the working process of the album spanned over two years.

The mix took place in the best music studio in Paris: the worldwide renowned Davout Studio.

Between the Rolling Stones and Alicia Keys.

I wrote all the songs and played most of the instruments. I also scored all my orchestrations.

The young actress Alix Arbet performed three songs in one day.

She came back for the shooting of a music video.

With the participation of the director of the TV series Youcef Hamidi.

The recording was made at Studio Capitale Paris.

It required 150 studio days to complete.

18 songs were written in order to pick up the 10 best ones.

The recording with Alix was fun and we had a good time.

This first music

is mainly orchestral brass and drums. This is a soft and yet efficient way to sustain the action and blend into the soundtrack.

—————————————————–

This second version

is into ethnic flavor. The idea is to create a musical landscape that takes you far away. It makes me think of the way music is used in the Battlestar Galactica series. The tempo is down because the music being more intruding has to take its distance from the action, not to take over.

—————————————————–

The third version

is a pop rock guitar version. Sometimes you have to distance yourself from the pictures and try to bring in something totally different that will add up without being redundant.
This is very much a director’s choice. It is most intruding and taking distance from the action. It’s also harder to blend mix. This is a modern way of attracting young audience by using pop songs that they recognize as their everyday culture. It can lead to great success or to complete failure. To be used very carefully.

Tristan and Iseult the Animation Movie. Making of the Music Soundtrack

I did the soundtrack of this animation movie with the Bulgarian Symphonic Orchestra.
There was music from beginning to end. I enjoyed the action scenes, but some love themes were pleasant.
The recording was made in original surround, meaning five main microphones were used, completed with close additional mics.
