How to deal with directors ?
1/ First tip is to tell the director how much you like his work.
If you don’t tell him you like his work he’s never compliment you either.
2/ Another valuable tip is to make him think that your ideas are HIS ideas.
If it comes from him it can only be good, couldn’t it?
3/ And if you ever are in trouble, make him be by your side when you make decisions.
That way he won’t go against HIS work by your side.
4/ Another tip is to make him talk a lot about his movie and what he believes the music should be.
5/Ask for as much info as you can get about the movie. Make them work for it.
6/ That way they will “feel” how much dedication you have for the project.
7/ Don’t forget you also need other people’s approval, like producers and more.
8/ Never argue with a director, he’s the boss. Convince other people to fight for you if you have to.
