The live action version for the Nick cartoon, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Noah Ringer will be playing the role of the main hero, Aang and Slumdog Millionaire’s Dev Patel will do the role of Fire Nation’s Prince Zuko.

The world was once a harmonious place for the four elemental people, the Air Nomads, Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation, to inhabit until the fire nation decided to control and over power everything. It was believed that only the Avatar could bring back peace and equilibrium to the world.

The young airbender Aang was believed to become the next Avatar. He had survived a terrible storm by locking in himself in a large ball of ice. Hundred years later, he was discovered and released by Katara and Sokka from the Water Tribe. Aang, still looking like a 13-year old boy, was the last of the Air Nomad race. Now, he must master bending the four elements and fulfill his destiny as the Avatar and bring back peace to the world.

I hope Director M. Night Shyamalan and the rest of the film crew would give justice to the series as it is a very popular and well-accepted cartoon. Its supposed date of release will be 2nd of July 2010.
