Tohru Honda

A 2nd year High School orphan living in a tent. Her temporary shelter was then destroyed by a shelter and is now living with Yuki and Kyo  in Shigure’s house. A very optimistic, naive and cheerful young girl. She is well aware of the Sohma’s family curse.

Yuki Sohma

Same school with Tohru, Kyo, Hatsuharu and Momiji. Very popular in their school, with many avid fans; they address him as ‘PrinceYuki’. Since child, Yuki has been very gloomy, disheartened and isolated. His low self-esteem is because of Akito Sohma. He is the younger brother of Ayame Sohma. He loathes Kyo Sohma and vice versa. Whereas, Hatsuharu Sohma liked Yuki that much. Living with Tohru, has slowly changed

Kyo Sohma

Cat
Live under Shigure’s house together with Tohru and Yuki. Kyo is very ill-tempered and harsh. He hates Yuki and leeks but mostly Yuki. He is an outcast from the Sohma family since he is a cat- not part of the Zodiac. His father hates him and his mother committed suicide. Kyo’s bracelet bounds him from transforming into a monster cat, losing his identity. Kagura (pig) is head over heels on Kyo, usually ending him beaten up. Later on, who develops a soft spot for Tohru.

Akito Sohma

Head of the Sohma clan. Seem to have the violent authority and control on Sohma members. He is very weak and sickly. He inflicts mental and physical torments on other family members particularly on Yuki, Hatohori and Kisa.

Shigure Sohma

A very good friend of Ayame and Hatori Sohma. He’s a novel writer and is giving hard time to his editor. He’s older than Tohru, Kyo and Yuki. A perverted ,cunning, comical, know-it-all  middle adult. However, Shigure seems to have known a lot of secrets surrounding the Sohma clan.

Hatori Sohma

Dragon

He is the family doctor of Sohma family especially to the sickly Akito. He transforms into a seahorse instead.  His left eye is hurt and blinded by Akito in disapproval on Hatori and love interest, Kana’s marriage. Kana became deeply depressed and blames herself for the incident. Hatori has to erase her memories.

Ayame Sohma

Snake

He is Yuki’s silvery long-haired, older brother and owner of a designer shop. He wears striking and brightly colored clothing. He was a student president back then. He, Hatori and Shigure is a ‘trio’. He tries to recover his relationship with Yuki.

Momiji Sohma

Rabbit

Older than he looks. He is half-German and half-Japanese. Full of glee and is very fond of Tohru. His mother was too disappointed knowing that he turns into a rabbit when hugged. Hatori had erased her minds. Behind Momiji’s smile is a hurting scar. He dresses brightly and colorfully.

Hatsuharu Sohma

Ox

Very cool and light-hearted, black-white haired punk but very dangerous when he turns ‘black’ (he turns black when provoked). He doesn’t like Yuki before but a relaxing conversation he had with him changed his feelings towards him. Likes to compete with Kyo.

Kisa Sohma

Freshman. Orange-haired, low self-esteemed girl. She was constantly bullied for her hair color. It caused her so much trauma that she refuses to speak. She is comfortable with Hatsuharu andHiro. She doesn’t like Tohru at first, but gradually felt liking for Tohru and gave her courage to start speaking once more.

Hiro Sohma

Sheep

Six-grader in a primary school. Envies and holds grudge against Tohru for being close with Kisa. Very sarcastic.

Kagura Sohma

Pig

Likes Kyo a lot but not vice versa, so, Kyo ended up beaten. She holds a promise form Kyo of marrying her. The promise only took place because Kagura was threatening Kyo. She usually carries a teddy bear bag.

Ritsu Sohma

Monkey

Likes cross-dressing to relax his moves.  He acts and looks like a girl. Has a low self-esteem and nearly apologizes at everyone and at everything.

Uotani Arisa

Former gangster. A very good friend of Tohru. She is very protective of Tohru.

Hanajima Saki

Good friend of Tohru and Uotani. Other students finds her very strange and weird since she seems to gather electric waves from people around her. She is also very protective of Tohru.
